Yuletide

Tis the season to be jolly, tra la la la la la la la la. Well, that went well. Hey people, so it's December again and Black Friday came and went without so much as a "window surf", not to talk of buying anything, on my side. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to buy a PS4 and a bunch of games, but I didn't have cash on me. I also got reports of how lame Black Friday was, only to see these people and get the full story, as is. Why'd they call Black Friday lame? They didn't get to buy anything. Unlike me, they had cash, but THEY WERE LATE!!!!! I laughed so hard, my sides hurt. They didn't wake up early enough and everyone else got the stuff. Leaving just the unwanted stuff for them. Time waits for no man, people. Well, here we are after BF and it's looking like this year's Christmas season will be different. For one, not so many people are complaining this year. What are your plans and am I invited? Lemme know oo. I'm ready to gorge myself. Have a wonderful yuletide season, everyone

Rants

That's how I found this image online and it contains a 30-day challenge. Long story short, I've started with the challenges. Today is day 3. Oh, where are my manners? How've y'all been? As I was saying, day 3 of my challenge was about alcohol and drugs. Well, my stand is obvious.

I hope everyone's Eid celebrations went alright, or at least, better than mine. Not only was I bored out of my skull, I ate what my neighbour's kids brought for me, barbecued beef. So, it wasn't that bad, but the marinade was all saucy and now, my tummy's complaining. Okay, scout's honor, I ate waaaay more than that. I ate a lot, actually. Too much, if you ask me. But, then again, who was counting, eh? Well, I should have. Now, I'm lying on my bed on a sunday and I have no idea what to do with myself. Before you go all religious on me, know this. I am spiritual, not religious. So, sunday-sunday church or sunday Jesus dp usage or Jesus fb posts are not my thing. In truth, I despise them. For the simple reason of "Why didn't you post about Jesus during the week? What? He went to the office and was unavailable during the week, eh?" But, I digress. So, my own Eid was spent in front of a tv with a controller pad in my hands. (Did I mention that I'm a gamer? I am. Oh, goody) I also ate a lot, but you already knew that. Anyhow, here's to a new week and hoping y'all had fun. Let me know how your Eid went. Share your fun day or whatever kind of day you had. Toodles.

The Maze Runner

Okay, so this is my first blog on here and just because it's MY post, I'll write about what I like.(yeah, I'm conceited like that). Anyway, so I went to GDC yesterday and I got a pleasant  in that I wanted to watch a movie and I had just two thousand bucks with me and a movie is one thousand, five hundred. So, I say "whatever, it's a movie, let's do this"(yeah, I'm a movie maniac). Anyhow, it turns out movies are five hundred naira on Tuesdays before noon. Imagine the grin on my face. Okay, enough rambling.
The Maze Runner is a 2014 movie based on a book of the same name by James Dashner and directed by Wes Ball
. It's about a group of boys that are put in a controlled environment, with no memory of who they were, except for their names. I say "were" because they obviously had lives before the Glade(oh yeah, that's what they call their abode). They have to grow their own food and basically, survive, which goes without saying. They stick together and watch out for each other. There's a group of them that go out each day and they're called "Runners". Did I mention the Glade's surrounded by a maze? A huge maze, too. It's up to the Runners to map out the maze and try to find a way out, if there's any. They have to contend with Grievers, though. And also have to get back to the glade before nighttime,  the walls surrounding the glade close up and then, they're at the mercy of the grievers. There's a lot of words that don't make sense initially and sound all made up, but as the movie progresses, you start to get it. That said, the movie's got lessons to teach and action. Suspense, a little bit of comedy and no nudity. So, all you pervs, this isn't for you. In all, I'd rate it 6/10.

Fashion Combos That Can't Go Wrong.

Fashion combos that can never fail involves totally amazing style hack of looking stylish even when you have no idea what to wear.

There must have been periods when you look at your wardrobe with disgust and just thought "You have absolutely nothing to wear" Well don't lose hope, there's a fashion gold in that dark cave you call your wardrobe and it's easier to find than you might think.

1. Black + White

You can't go wrong with pure black and white. You could get dressed drunk and blind while falling down the stairs, and if everything you throw on on the waywas black and/or white, 99 times out of a hundred you would still look cool, chic and stylish.

2. Big Sweater + Small Skirt

Style is all about contrast and balance -the looseness of the top with the tightness of the skirt, the covered-up top with the skin-baring bottom. If the sweater reaches below your crotch give it a little front tuck to keep look from getting boxy, and when it gets really cold out, add tights in a color that contrasts the skirt to keep your legs looking as long as possible.

3. Silk Blouse + Slim-fit Pant

Solid or printed, real silk, cotton or polyester. There's probably a simple button down blouse somewhere in your wardrobe waiting to be thrown on. Tuck the front in, back and sides out. Secret is all in the tuck. Wear it with a sleek pair of fitter pants and or jeans even shorts with or without blazers. With high heels, sneaker or slides you cant go wrong.

More style tips coming your way.

There you go! stay fashionable :)

QUESTIONS FOR EACH DAY

We live in a state of constant change, a process which is always happening whether we are paying attention or not. Those who ignore or cannot see it within themselves witness it in other people around them.

As life is about recalibrating, how about you continually ask yourself:
"What do I have to do to get where I need to be?"
"How do I create the life I want?"

Here is a short answer: Making ourselves over consistently and daily in order to progress as we are not meant to stagnate.

That way we are sure of change, one's goal should be how to figure out using change certainty to one's advantage. To renew, to redevelop, to rejuvenate, to refashion and transform one's day-to-day being.

Taking care of one's self, feeding one's self with nutritious food, loving thoughts and love itself. Giving one's self the gift of stillness at least few minutes daily, surrounding one's self with people who bring light and to banish all forms of  negative energy. These are the best way for sure to stay in steady makeover mode.

In time one will discover that the value you give yourself is the value the world reflects back to you. Care about yourself enough to acknowledge and embrace change, you will be on the path that will lead you home to happiness.

Carry on smiling and the world will smile with you.

HOMEMADE BEAUTY TREAT

Beauty is the quality in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure  or deep satisfaction to the mind hence the need to stay beautiful.

This edition of homemade beauty treats will involve the use of olive oil.

There are many ways to stay beautiful. Here are two (2) of my best use of Olive oil

1. Eye Makeup Remover: Dab a few drop of Olive oil onto a cotton ball, and then swipe it over your eyes to gently wipe off your makeup.

Merit: It serves as a great mosturizer, so no need to rinse it off.

This method saves me lot of stress after a long day.

2. Deep Conditoner: Massage one teaspoon of extra-virgin olive oil into dry, clean hair (pay attention to the ends). Then wrap your hair in a warm damp towel and let the oil absorb into your strands for up to 20 minutes before rinsing it out with warm water.

This method helps keep my hair healthy. This will help if your hair looks thirsty.

Stay beautiful;)

Questions you need to answer before delving into. trends

QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE DELVING INTO TRENDS.

It's not sinful to follow trends but one needs to know what suits and fits one's individuality.
Trends are to be mixed and balanced with personal taste and individuality.
Answers to these questions helps one to be able to figure how best to fit in into what everyone likes hence the ability to infuse one's personal flavor into the trend.

Question 1

Do I truly like this trend?

This is to checkmate one's interest since one seeing lots of the same style around could generate a sense of adventure. Therefore the need to be sure of what one is getting into.

Question 2

Am I doing it "just because"?

This is to help checkmate one's  self-esteem as one  do not need to take part in a trend "just because" friends are rocking the trend or because that trend is used as an identification for classy ladies/gents.

Question 3

Should I follow this considering that it's in complete contrast to who I am?

This is to help put one's self respect and personality in check as one needs to not lose his/her sense of individuality.

Question 4

Can I really afford it?

Don't go running into debts, it's self-destructive .

These are questions that would or should with every trend arrive with the person who is discerning. If you are not discerning, these questions means nothing to you.
